The new 35,000 sq ft Student Life Center for St. Agnes Academy was a much needed expansion for the school of 900 students. Now, St. Agnes Academy is enjoying the new Sr. Jane Meyer Auditorium and Performance Hall, the 8,500 sq ft Student Commons, which allows for group work and socializing, the 4,500 sq ft Jamieson/Chilton Family Dance Studio, which can accommodate up to 87 dancers, and additional classrooms and parking. The new 12,000 sq ft multipurpose auditorium with 1,300 seats includes a 3,500 sq ft balcony that can double as a lecture hall for up to 300 people. The Student Life Center also includes a speech and debate space with a communications classroom, a health classroom, three multi-purpose practice rooms, three vocal studios, and boys’ and girls’ dressing rooms. Each space within the Student Life Center was designed to be multi-purpose, allowing the school to think of creative ways to use each space. Lighting was designed throughout to enhance the use and enjoyment of the space, from whimsical rings in the student commons to an illuminated cross on the ceiling of the performance hall.
